External wall coatings are high-build elastomeric, acrylic or silicone systems applied to concrete block, stucco, EIFS, precast and tilt-up walls to bridge hairline cracks, stop water absorption and renew the facade. Statesville Roofing installs WeatherReady™ wall coating systems on commercial buildings across North Carolina.
Block, stucco and tilt-up walls crack. Not dramatically, but enough for wind-driven rain to get in, stain the interior and feed mold. Paint hides it for a season. An elastomeric coating bridges the cracks and stretches with the wall.
Coating projects are also the most cost-effective facelift a commercial building can get. One project waterproofs the walls and gives the property a new, uniform finish.

External Wall Coatings questions, answered
What is the difference between paint and elastomeric coating?
Elastomeric coatings are applied 5 to 10 times thicker than paint and stretch to bridge cracks as the wall moves. Paint is decorative; elastomeric is waterproofing.
Can you coat over existing paint?
Usually, if the existing coating is sound and adhered. We test adhesion and remove failing areas before coating.
How long does an exterior wall coating last?
Elastomeric systems typically carry 10-year warranties and often perform longer with periodic cleaning.
