Masonry and stone restoration repairs and replaces deteriorated brick, block, cast stone, limestone and terra cotta and the steel that supports them. It addresses spalling, cracking, displacement and corroded lintels to restore structural integrity and weather resistance. Statesville Roofing's restoration division has served North Carolina commercial and institutional buildings since 2003.

Once water has been in a wall long enough, repointing alone is not enough. Brick faces spall, stone cracks, and the steel lintels and shelf angles behind the facade rust and expand, pushing masonry out of plane.

Our restoration crews replace damaged units, patch and Dutchman-repair stone, replace corroded steel, and rebuild displaced sections, matching original materials so the repair disappears into the building.

Why owners choose us

What you get with Statesville Roofing

Structural problems corrected

Rusting steel and displaced masonry are fixed at the cause, not cosmetically covered.

Matched materials

Brick, stone and mortar are sourced and matched so repairs blend with the original.

Safety restored

Loose units and unstable parapets are a liability. Restoration removes the risk.

Forensic experience

Our team traces water intrusion through the wall assembly to prevent recurrence.

How it works

Our four-step process

The same process behind more than 98,000 service projects since 1989. No surprises, no pressure, everything in writing.

  1. Consultation

Tell us what you are seeing and when you need it handled. A project manager, not a call center, calls you back.

  2. Inspection

We survey the facade closely, probe suspect areas, examine lintels and anchors, and document deterioration by elevation with photos.

  3. Proposal

You receive a detailed scope: unit counts, steel replacement, stone repairs, flashing and mortar specs, with phased pricing if needed.

  4. Work & Quality Check

Work is completed from lifts or swing stages with protection for occupants, matched materials verified on site, and a final inspection with you.

Good to know

Masonry & Stone Restoration questions, answered

What causes brick to spall?

Water enters the brick, freezes and expands, breaking the face off. The sources are usually failed mortar joints, missing flashing or copings, and rusting steel behind the wall.

Why is my brick cracking above the windows?

Steel lintels rust and expand up to seven times their thickness, lifting and cracking the masonry above. The fix is to remove the brick, replace or treat the steel, install flashing and rebuild.

Can you match old brick and stone?

In most cases, yes. We source salvaged or manufactured matches and blend mortar color so repairs are not obvious.
